About the Apple Tree Dance Teacher - Allison Nichol
Allison has more than twenty years of dance training in classical ballet, modern dance, classical jazz and contemporary dance and five years experience teaching dance to children. In 2011, Allison relocated to Zurich from Toronto. She is fluent in English & French and is learning High German in her free-time.
Allison has a BFA degree in contemporary dance with a specialisation in choreography. Allison believes that imagination combined with a sense of play and discovery should be at the centre of a children’s dance class. Allison offers dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, modern & creative dance.

For those interested in developing skills in performing arts & expressing themselves through movement.
Classical jazz dance is an expressive dance technique, accessable to young dancers, as many children have already been exposed to this form of dance through musical theatre productions, films & televison.
The technique draws from both ballet & modern dance and is an excellent tool for dancers from all background. It is a superb additional form of training for children with all sorts of musical styles. A strong technical base will gradually be formed, as drawn from traditional jazz dance training.
Emphasis will be placed on the child's inherent creativity and young dancers will be encouraged to express themselves through movement with a sense of play & discovery.
Ages 3.5 - 5 years - CREATIVE DANCE with pre-ballet.
Ages 5.5 - 7 years - CREATIVE DANCE with pre-ballet for children, beginners with some experience.
Taught by Allison Nichol - the Apple Tree dance teacher, this class offers a range of dance styles and movements for children who love to move & dance while using their imagination. Each lesson takes 40-45 minutes.
The goal of this class is to nurture the child's existing love of movement and to invite the child to use their imagination while discovering new & interesting ways of moving in an active group environment.
